Short question - short answer: In my opinion Kolb clay is the best. Great modelling properties and most of all constantly good quality. SuperClay (standard)TecClay (sulfur free) When it comes to styrofoam I think the differences are not that big - as long as you don´t take that cheap white stuff.

Berserk Fury, I think you will find that all the manufacturer's clays are very similar in properties, therefore no one clay being the best. It's a case of what is easily available to you in New Zealand and what is going to be the least expensive for you to import. In Europe on the main continent it's going to be mainly Faber and Kolb, in the UK it will be Chavant, Faber then Kolb and in the USA it will be mainly Chavant. Japan will have their own version of clay and so on. For the styrofoam use an open cell variety so that the clay will adhere to it properly and not roll off such as produced by Dow Industries.Steve A www.claysculptors.com
