Hi, I was on the Euromold and have seen a new solution for milling called Romocut! Has anyone experiance with this robot? It seems to bee a new design, you find it on http://www.romocut.com
Actually, that video is from Special Projects in Plymouth Michigan. Back in 2002 or so we (Tarus) rented a Mustang from Hertz and applied clay to the hood to mill for the demo tape. We had help from Special Projects (Building, Plate, Machine, Clay, CAD), Ken Winarski (Modelling) and Kim Gruber (ICEMDDN).
We applied masking tape and shellac to the hood before the clay. The car is just sitting on it's tires, not on risers, so this was hardly an accurate demo. But, it showed how the machine worked, and I can credit that video with a sale for a machine that is now going to Air Design in Mexico. So, in the end it was worth the effort. The hood of the car had to be repainted before we returned it to Hertz (oops).
(Thanks everyone!)
I will post more current videos in next few weeks. For now, here is a photo of prototype for a new machine design for milling clay instrument panels and 1/4 scale exteriors. (warning, large file)
