I know this section is for clay modelling , but i dint know where else to post ok heres the thing there is a Scorpio(its an indian SUV) redesign contest , and it requires that u build a model of the concept on a chassey(made of lego (plastic)) provided by them. i am in a fix on what material to use they say thermocol, plastic etc im thinking plastic card what material do u guys thinks would look most realistic and also would be fairly easy to use. any suggestions???
From what you are saying it sounds like it is going to be a small scale model if the chassis is going to be made from lego. I guess they are going to supply your wheels as well.
If you want to be able to give the model some shape then the best solution for you would be to use a soft plasticine which is inexpensive and you should be able to purchase it from any model shop. This will enable you to provide a softer shape to your model rather than just straight sides that you would get from a ridged plastic.
With plasticine you do not require any specialist tools, you can model the shape with your hands.
ur right it will be small so shud i give it some kind of skeleton or shud i just shape it on a block of plasticine i was just going through some methods of building models with cardstock and it dosent sound that bad
If you can do the job that you want out of cardstock then go for it. Plasticine just gives you that added dimension by allowing you to play with the shape.
If it is really small just use a solid block of plasticine there's no need for a substructure. If it is a little larger then use a polystyrene block to take up some of the bulk.
otherwise just gather as much junk crap and rubbish u can find and see what works well. use paper, card, bits of old toys, play-doh, rubber johnnys, anything! go crazy man and see where it takes you!
He sure did, he got great CD, TV and TS results. Remember that time he suggested to Richual Carmilliation that he chuck an umbrella and a dress (plus some lippy, high heels etc) onto his wind-tunnel rig? He got his Reynolds number -crossed- with his weight-lifter's figure and BLAMMMO; it was Farbulous Dahling! He ran it at the Rio Carnival on a single gallon of AIDS.
Thats the CD (Cant Draw) factor.
