We're looking for people interested in automotive design that would like to design a prototypical cars for a visualization study for a larger project. Adaptations of existing conventional car designs are fine, but the vehicle itself is a bit different in that it would be made to run on a light monorail system. There are a few options we are looking at, but for the most part the vehicle would function like a typical car with the typical amenities.
The goal is to create a computer animated visualization of what a system like the one we're proposing would look like, so ultimately a 3D model is needed, like Alias, Rhino, etc.
No one in our loose group is an auto designer, I'm an architect and that's where my interest lies, and others are more technical types, so anyone interested in automotive design would be a great addition. There's no time pressure, we're doing this in our free time and anyone's contribution is appreciated.
We're not looking for anything overly detailed or that would be too much work for someone to produce in their spare time. There's no money involved, it's one of our rules as this is for fun and to see our work take shape, but any design work used would of course be fully credited to the designer.
If anyone's interested please PM me and I'll send more detailed information. If there are questions that others might benefit from, post them here and I'll answer as best I can. BTW, it's fitting that this is/was Earth day because the ultimate goal is to visualize a transportation system that is environmentally friendly, safe, and designed to be beautiful, so it's sort of a philanthropic endeavor as well.
