But what I'd really like to see developed is something to replace Carpet!
I mean, c'mon, That was in houses during my teen years! Surely there must be something else out there.

There seems to be a lot of "piano black" being used on dashes and consoles these days. The thick lacquer-style gloss black is a nice change from the silver painted plastic that's been so dominant for so long, IMO.

Instead of asking for the easy answer you need to look for yourself. Now if you want to be inventive look beyond automotive to ID, intgerior design, yachts, corporate jets and other sources to develop new independent inspirations.
