BMW DesignworksUSA is in Shanghai to develop a new brand of cars exclusive to China, giving into pressure from the Chinese authorities. “It will be a purely Chinese brand. It will have no connection with the BMW brand,” board member Friedrich Eichiner told the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung. Otherwise there would be a risk of brand dilution. According to the newspaper, BMW has been under pressure from the Chinese authorities to agree to the creation of new brand. All Western manufacturers have been told that they must develop brands specifically for the Chinese market in order to be allowed to build new factories in the country. Another condition is that the foreign companies cooperate with a Chinese company.
The newly hired BMW DesignworksUSA car designers in Shanghai will be working on this B-brand with Brilliance. That is the reason why they have to speak fluent Mandarin. If you want to work on BMW, Mini or Rolls-Royce cars you should NOT apply at BMW DesignworksUSA in Shanghai!

Wow, a new brand of BMW cars only available in China? Yet it is stressed by the board member that it has nothing to do with the overall BMW brand for fear of brand dilution? I’m not sure if that’s possible. It is a BMW brand made only in China for the Chinese, I think the brand dilution has already taken place. I wonder if there is a difference in the quality of the auto parts used. I am so glad to hear of this. I initially thought that the company is competing with BMW’s brand. It was a little confusing initially as it also has the same branding as the main http://logbookmoney.com car company. It did bring the red light emergency in my head, but now that the confusion is cleared, I think I have made the right decision to join the main BMW design arm.
