Some time ago I've posted several ideation drawings of this project. Well, I wanted to follow up on my previous posts with pics of the final rendering and packaging.
Image is a digi cam pics and therefore contains some perspectival distortions (these drawings are 24" in width) and color loss. And there are several mistakes that have been pointed out during class but I also wanted to hear members' feedback as well. Help me out!
BTW, the body is bronze/stainless alloy. Apart from practicality/feasibility, I just thought it would be an interesting fanciful continuation of the original DMC-12.
Your views dont match. To me they are three different cars. Overall it looks dated, maybe its the rendering style... the matte areas are odd to me. The rocker is huge. Is it really going to have that rear diffuser? Looks slightly out of perspective as well.

Haha, I expected pinpointing criticism from you. But that's good as it's exactly what I need.
Yeah, I ventured with the rendering style for this one. The body rendering doesn't have any chalk work, thought that it would look more bronze-ish in this way. I actually thought it was the design that looked dated rather than the rendering though. Diffuser? yeah, why not? Big rocker? I thought they were actually consistent with the originals. Overall, this project was really challenging b/c I only had one model to refer to and towards the end I just had to stop doing more ideation as time ran out (I really have to work on being more decisive).
Where do you think is out of perspective? I'll greatly appreciate specific pointers as I might fix it.
Not really sure what the point in this design was. The Delorean was an interesting car for its time(i personally really liked it) but key point being 'for its time'. This simply looks like an alternative way that the designers may have gone at the time(way back when).
As for the rendering itself, i think the fact its goldish makes it look dated as its not really a color seen often anymore. Overall it could be a litttttle more dramatic to really sell itself? However style aside, the render reads pretty well to me.
The only thing i notice right away that doesn't match between the 3 drawings is that the front fender/hood are basically non exhistant on the 2nd and 3rd renderings while the top one it is present in.

Window lines all vary from drawing to drawing.
What was the motivation for this concept?
good stuff killa!
Motivation for this project? Well, as a student, you gotta try everything! The assignment was to choose a brand and create a luxury sedan that was consistent with the brand's design. While it might have been easier to do something more contemporary and conventional, I wanted to give myself a little challenge by choosing this brand. Perhaps this could have looked more modern in a night shot rendering, with its front and rear glowing in red , which was actually my design intention.

rear where? If it's the far right end that appears a bit thicker, it's the camera lens. or are you referring to the perspective of the overall rear design?

Ok but why yellow? Shouldnt it be a stainless steel body? The rear view is out of perspective. Its going to 2 or more different vanishing points
stainless steel body? well, why stainless? what's wrong about trying a bronze-stainless steel alloy of some sort and learn to depict it? what's wrong about pushing it as a student?
yeah, the rear does look like that but it really is the lens of my camera. if i had taken these shots from far and zoom in, it would have looked more accurate.
