Good evening,

A small introduction, my name is Bryan McMurray, born in Cape Town South Africa, currently living in Lisbon Portugal. I a have decided to pursue a design career, focused in automotive / transportation starting off with a bachelors then a Masters.

I would just like to ask if anyone may help me in a few questions I have not been able to figure out yet, and found such a great community here with knowledge in these areas:

Which is "The" design school that is taken in highest consideration in Europe?
The college that will immediately stand out on your resume. I other terms (i am not comparing), which is "The Harvard" of Automotive / Transportation / Industrial Design in Europe.

(I do consider the option of Industrial Design Bachelor + Automotive Masters)
Price is not the issue, as for I am sure I will do whatever it takes to get there.
Don´t take me for a superficial person, my thought is since I am studying, I may as well get the best out of those 4 years as possible.

Is a bachelors in Industrial Design with a Masters in Automotive less advised in comparison to both bachelors and Masters in Automotive?

I have the possibility of getting a UK citizenship, will that provide me with any sort of benefit in my options? Is it worth pursuing?

Since the CarDesignNews Community has so much knowledge in the area, what is from a Designers / Employers / Students / etc point of view, is the most important for me to take in consideration right now? Or what is the most important for me to do / invest.

I highly appreciate our answers, and suggestions / recommendations are also very appreciated.
Feel free to ask me any questions.

Best regards,
Bryan McMurray

If you're serious about becoming an auto designer you might consider it more important to draw unique automotive forms rather than render what looks like existing design ideas. The content of ideas is what a future employer would be looking for in a new hire.
While I am at it, forget the Masters route and just get the best Bach. degree at the best school you can.

im currently a student in the uk.
uk wise coventry is the most popular auto design school but there is a few others such as swansea, northumbria and huddersfield. talking to people from cov they think there are too many people on the course.
to do a masters u dont need an auto ba, infact it could help coming from a differant background as so many people apply from auto courses. you just need a really good portfolio and have great ideas. perhaps go to a uni with auto and industrial design then often u can change after your first year if u wish.
as masters go the rca in london is considerd the top place to graduate from. pforzheim in germany is also great place.
this is not saying there are many other places throughout europe and the world.
hope this helps.
