Trans. design schools are pretty expensive. However, there is a school in Sweden, UMEA. They have free tution even if you are a nonresident, maybe look into that.

Some advice would be to just walk through the design building and take a look at the display cases. Plus there is a senior show exhibit in the gallery, but make sure to take a look at it ASAP cause stuff moves out of the gallery really quick.
Just a quick run down on things...there is no portfolio requirement to enter the program, however, only catch is that to get up to junior year, you need to pass a portfolio review. They only let about 20 or so in a year. Review consists of work done in particular classes. Plus since the degree is a BS, we have to take 2 physics classes.
Other than that, you'll learn perspective drawing, AutoCAD, Solidworks, marker rendering, modeling, etc.
I guess you can look into either CS San Jose or Savannah College of Art? I've seen cars come out of their Industrial Design programs before. Not sure how much are the tuitions though.
european design schools are much cheaper than any american design schools but thats only the case for european students. if you're an international student comming from US, its actually more expensive than any design schools in america.
CS San Jose is the same price at Long Beach, and they also are primarily a product school. Savannah College of Art runs 24K a year, I guess they do "some" trans., but doesn't look like a lot really..
