It seems like there hasn't been any news from Art Center in a long time! Does anyone still want to study there, or is it's time over? Did the Euro schools finally defeat the giant. Does anyone still want to go to Art Center, or is it just too expensive for what you get compared to the other schools?
it cost too much, $112,000 (8 terms x $14,000) thats before interest. It was $9,500 when I started, and that was just 5 years ago. too many students, not enough of them are quality. The school is not as selective enough when accepting students. When I began there were 12 students in my trans term. I heard the number is in the high 20's now. The politics within the school itself. Scholarships are there, but it seems it takes more then just talent and financial need to secure one. sometimes it takes pleading and crying in the department chairs office. hahaha.Anyways, dont get me wrong. if you love car design, art center is the place to go. It opens many doors and is the quickest way to acquire the skills needed. Just comes at a huge financial price tag. sorry for the long post.
I would love to go to ACCD, more then anything. But I have problems, I don't have that much money and im stuck in a ID program in middle america, so I have little to offer for trans design. By the way opnitm, got anything from your portfilio that got you in to ACCD that I could see. It would help me gage my chances of getting in.
I am applying for next fall before the deadline. I still have to do my W-2s before I finish my FASFA forms.

I reread this topic and feel that no one hear is hungry enough to attend this school. Talking about how expensive the school is will not get you anywhere. The total tuition is little different to any other art/design school in America. I know this because my exgirlfriend pays a pretty penny for attending Art Institute yet considering what jobs ar available around the world there will be no problem landing a career. Life is a beautiful struggle, which the gains outweigh anything else you'll face. Sure you will be spending countless nights doing projects and assignments but the payoff is knowledge and that is huge.
If you are hungry for something you will do anything for it rather than sit behind your computer talking about wanting to attend and start looking past the thought of expenses and deal with the costs. Forget social life, paying the amount is enough to convince me that I must take it seriously.

When I started at ACCD, the tuition was $1,125 a semester. That was hard to take even in 1977, but I never paid full tuition after the 3rd term, because of a scholorship from GM. And all I had to do was clean the shop with Bangle every day after classes. There is help out there
There is not a single school on this planet that guarantees you a job right where you want it. But I will tell you this, I have not worked with very many people who have graduated from these ID school with "car design" programs. Usually these are the places Art Center students have their first degree.
