id put ur best piece of work at the front, hte one youve got there at the moment is too simple, u need something that wil grab peoples attention straight away.
thanks for ur comments ill try to work on those....but so far dis is all i have now.and my perspective r off cauze i never took any drawing class...im basically and engineering student.did 2 yrs of mechatronic engineering n now transfer to an industrial design course here in malaysia.when i transfer i started out in 3rd sem so i didnt get to do my drawing classes..i was hoping that dis is sumtin dat a design school lik ccs or accd teaches...could u guys show me examples of the portfolio dat would likely get in?
Sorry...you will not get into Art Center with this. They will recommend that you take some night classes and courses at a nearby, cheaper school called Pasadena City College. A couple semesters of this might get your portfolio up to the required level for submission and possible acceptance.
The main problem I see is that the few cars you show are existing designs (Honda Civics, BMWs). You are not offering anything new or creative - neither visually nor functionally. If you cannot show any new vision, there is no reason to train you for a career in design.
You might try CCS - they used to be more "flexible" about entry portfolios...but then they would kick more people out of their program after the first year or two. And CCS might be interested in photographs of Vodka bottles, whereas Art Center is absolutely not (unless you are applying for the photography department!).
Good luck! If you are serious about this, you will not see my remarks as discouraging, but rather as a challenge to do better - or, I should say, to get yourself to a location like Pasadena where you can learn to do better.
