Hi I don't know how it's in America, but in Germany, you have to send in SKETCHES, and they've got to be perfect! Perspective and stylewise. Just take a look here (jakobhirzel.de) Sorry but I've to say that i think youre sketches are insufficent in this points. And I think too that you mustn't apply with photoshop works but with sketches. I really don't know how it's in America as said but it's like this in Germany (Pforzheim)... Good Luck

Keeeep on trying. You need to take art classes. This drawing by yourself thing is not going to work. BTW: Your drawings are very bad, plain and simple. Even if Art Center did accept you, you would have a huge dissadvantage because of the gap between the other students and you. Just remember Art center costs a lot and in the end everyone is fighting for a job. If your left behind you won't get a piece of the pie.

Dont listen to sadsack, keep drawing on your own, whenever you feel like it, anything that interests you. Polomint, god rest his hole, mentioned the number of RCA submitions containing soft porn; you're drawing cars and girls in classes and getting marked on it. It gets more fun all the time.

i wouldnt be surprised if this portfolio got you in.
however, the question you should be asking is: will i be competitive with a portfolio like this?
and the answer is no
and i agree with goochipoop's comment except the "This drawing by yourself thing is not going to work." The problem with drawing classes is that you (and everyone else in the class) are most likely going to imitate the instructor's drawing style.

Hey janet dobinson. I'm sure Zarniko wants to do design for a career. How am I a sad-sack "MR dobinson"? Hey zarniko if you really want a chance i suggest you take a class.
About the "drawing by your self thing"
How will you know what is wrong and what is right? How will you correct yourself? If you don't take a design class you won't know what to expect of yourself. You could say "ill just draw alot"... well if you draw a lot of the wrong things it won't magically become right thing. You need to take some sort of class plain and simple.
Don't get me wrong. Drawing by yourself is a great thing! But!!! only after you have established some sort of standard (by taking a class). Let's say your going on the wrong track on perspective. You rendering many things... but their wrong. If you don't understand it theres no point to continue because everything you produce will be wrong. But if you take a class you'll set a standard for yourself. You'll at least know what to expect and what "it should look like".

Like I said, dont listen to 'even more sad truth' sack. quote: You could say "ill just draw alot"... well if you draw a lot of the wrong things it won't magically become right thing.
Erm, yeah, they will. You imagine 'going to class' will make you improve more than simply practising will. Thats demonstrably dumb. The point of classes is to see compare work with your peer group: who's doing what, get ideas, get scared by strong progress. This is no bad thing. But what will improve drawing skills is researching drawings and renderings that you like and working out how they are done. And drawing a lot. Alone. By the way Goochipoop read your post back to yourself. Tell me, all that EMPHasis read as fruity to you as everyone else?

My buddy the Killer Kid here was just too dog-gone straight-away BADASS to come to class. He'd sit out in the parkin lot in his Chevy with some hot chicks from Coventry High smoking cigarettes and then later park up behind the Diner on Look Out ridge to get high and draw cars.
