My monthly expenditure rarely exceeds 1.5k. So, 3k monthly income will cover it for me. Even with price of gas nearing $15/gallon and other things inflating, if I'm living frugally, I can anticipate 2k/month in living expenses after the next 3 years or so... about 3.5-4k a month will do.

Can't be too wealthy too soon of course. Where's the fun?
