So I have been looking into car design lately and saw that Central Michigan was fairly local and super cheap. Anyone know anything about the program? I have yet to find anything about it. I am in my first year at a community college getting my gen ed out of the way.
Actually, I do know a litle bit about this program. I also went to community college - Associates in Vehicle Design and CAE from OCC... woo! The program at Central is nothing like what you see here on the website. It's pretty much an extension of what you learn at a community college relating to CAD and the like. Its a program that was developed for all the designers in Detroit that couldn't go back for a BSME when the automakers started looking to hire and keep only people with 4 year degrees. I've got a friend who went through that program and he says that whenever he shows it to an employer on a resume, they don't look real highly on it. If CAD design is your passion in life, I say go for it. You're right, the price is very reasonable. Me, I've been doing CAD for about 6 years now and I'm bored. I just started the transportation design program at LTU that began this past fall and I'm loving it. If you can draw and you have an interest in the kinds of things you see on this site, than I highly encourage you to check it out!
