I'm in full agreement with everything AMH has said, especially in regard to celebrities of the car design world. To add on what he has spaid, I also want to point out that there are so many people who can design and draw well--but there are also those who go beyond their artistic talent by their leadership quality, communication skills, and unique vision that set them from the rest. For this reason, there is no need to hurry as training as a designer really is about getting all around education as well as growing as a person. Starting a design school as a mature individual imo will yield far more effective result than hurrying into a school.
AMH, did you apply for ACN scholarship? I' rooting in for one of the fine art or graphic design class.

True, especially when we are anticipating stress and time management challenges to become a catalyst to our ability as a creative person... Yea, I applied for ACN scholarship I let them choose the course if I get it. Its either figure painting, interplanetary flights, or "invention innovation" workshop. All three sounds interesting; and I read somewhere here in the forum that figure painting skills helps us to understand proportion in general.
Mr. Burns, if they promised to pay for shipping, then find the fastest overnight carrier to get your portfolio to ACCD. Theres no harm done in trying (for free)

In fact, bmw's design studio holds regular figure drawing session for their designers, I heard. Good luck on your ACN scholarship!

Hey Burns who was the representative who contacted you about sending back your portfolio?...i believe kinkos fedex can ship any day, no? but don't rush it like crazy this is an open chance to sneak in new better works for their review. It's gonna take a while for them to respond back with the acceptance letter, its been around 3 weeks since i sent mine in and I'm still waiting.
Hey Burns, Great to hear that everything worked out. To be honest these sort of things are do happen. Im in a bit of a fix myself. I sent my portfolio in January and I got the acceptance letter in March. Unfortunately it ACCD sent all the other letters through snail-mail...it took TWO WEEKS for each mail to arrive. Now its almost 2 weeks to the start of the term and I still have to get my I20 and make an appointment for my Visa. Imagine going through all that only to miss the classes due to the Indian mail system!!!
Well it seems now the earliest possible date they can get it is early morning Tuesday, so I'm growing very concerned at the moment!
Alexie- your announcement will likely come with the scholarship announcements, they probably skipped the acceptance letter part since they messed up your application too. Also I can PM you the name of the representative if you want, but he was very nice and understanding of my situation. I hope everything works out.
Good luck crazycardude! I hope that works out for you too! It seems they need to refine their international student application process.

woah thats good! and maybe this time you should open the sealed plastic bag... I used to show my portfolio in its full package to many of my friends who doesn't know anything about design etc...or whoever nearby. Ask for their honest input, and hopefully all the feedback can ease your anxiety at this moment
hey cardesigndude, if you do not get visa on time for the first day of class, or even the orientation, they will not let u in for summer term. if that happens, you will need to defer to the following term in which in your case, will be fall term. this is exactly what happeend to me and if this happens, then you will lose your scholarship. yeah sucks but seems like theyll try keep their money in watever chance they get lol
