I think it's obvious that you did not read my statments clearly.
I did not say that "Blue Sky was not worth it!"
I stated that you need both "Blue Sky" projects and projects that show that you can deal with real world contraints!
I also stated that my friend who had transfered from Art Center was "ahead" of the rest of the students in my class.
I have met "Syd Mead" and I was part of panel discussion with him in which he stated that it was his "real world" design experience along with his "futuristic ideas" that set him apart from others in his field. I've also met "Scott Roberston" who said the same thing.

what is that exactly? is it paper? how big is it? does anything else (letter) come with it? how big is the envelope it comes in? Does it come with or after the acceptance letter? OR is it the acceptance letter?
The image you posted IS the letter of acceptance. It comes with a few other documents and such, i forgot exactly what is included in it. It is kind of large, 8.5 by 11 or so.
So I guess if it came in a letter, it would be pretty obvious without opening the letter that it's either a rejection or acceptance? the acceptance being larger and containing a lot of things while the rejection containing only a letter?

Hey Burns, did you get your portfolio back yet? i was expecting getting a letter this week, and to my surprise got a phone call today from them, saying that they want my portfolio back again for a scholarship review, like wtf they sent it back to soon by mistake!!!!...so today i had to resend again i dunno wtf is going on...another 2 weeks of waiting for their response...sigh.

really? when i asked them of the scholarship review, they told me that the review for fall scholarships was over the day before yesterday. according to what i know, they do two seperate rounds of review--first for admissions and then scholarship review among accepted students. sounds like a positive news for you.
Hi. I've been a lurker too long. Finally decided to come out. Mr. Burns and Alexei, I personally like your works a lot. Can't see why they won't take the both of you in, unless its bad luck. Regarding scholarships though, I won't sit around and wait. My plan for next week is to get another job:P. Certainly won't hurt to re-apply for Spring 09 Scholarship review on the safer side of financial issue. I assure you, considering living expenses in So Cal etc, I guess its a call for austerity this time of year (and on). Hopefully I will see both of you this Fall.

Sounds like good news! I haven't gotten anything back so far, the only "official" response has been the letter telling me my application is complete.
I expect something on tuesday, and I'm taking them not returning my portfolio yet as a good sign!

I don't know whether to think it's good news or not, it seems quite weird for them to send my portfolio back without any further review for scholarship and then two weeks later ask for it again to be reviewed...sounds like they messed up, but their excuse was that they wanted to send it back as soon as possible wtf?
