I will graduate high school in '09 and then i'm going to start car design studies in foreign european country. Firstly, I thought of Umea, because I love Scandinavia and I was attracted by no tuition fees in Sweden. But as you know, their ba course is only for norhern europeans. Maybe i'll consider it in case of ma degree.
So far, i'm considering moving to Italy for 3 years to study in Turin at IAAD. I've already started learning italian intensively. I asked them for some info and fees. That's much: 5300 euro per year, however you get a title of 'european bachelor of science in design'. That appeals to me. Also, school collaborate a lot with major italian car and motorbike manufacturers so there will be bigger chance to be employed in future.
I think I can do it. The only thing i'm worrying about are damn math and physics which are my least favorite subjects at school. Getting hang of physics in my high school is a myth... Is it very important to pass an maturity exam (that's how it's called in my country) in maths to be accepted?? I know it's necessary in design profession, but i'm also not a complete disaster in this. Have you got any other useful informations about IAAD? You know, personal opinions and what is it worth??
Thanks
PS Soon I'll post some of my recent works. IAAD program
