Why do you need to know?

If you love car designing that much it shouldnt matter how much they earn!

Some of you really need to quit being so arrogant and face reality. It is a person's OBLIGATION to find out how much a certain career pays if he is really serious about looking into such a career. Again, car design is a JOB, not a hobby, and jobs need to pay and should pay fairly.

With that being said, the avg. starting salary of a car designer in the US would be around 50-60k, depending on location and what not. Again, this is just avg., there are high's and low's.

Thats in the US!

I have a decent degree from one of the most respected transport design schools in the world, I am telling the guy the truth, I am not being arrogant!

The jobs in the UK are few and far between! Out of 75 graduates only a handful from my year have got jobs!

The starting salaries in the UK are only just enough to live on! Even some of them say "must have 3yrs experience"

I am searching for a job now! I have been lucky, have had interest from Bugatti (so far nothing back) and unpaid experience from a private race car builder.

Right, well like I said I was only speaking for the US. And this doesn't go out specifically to you, but what I meant by "arrogance" is the fact that I see time and time again a question like the thread starter's here get responses with the notion that people who enjoy what they're doing don't deserve to get paid well. And then the thread starter is made out to seem ungreatful or not "passionate" enough. Yeah right....give me a break.

The reason that is said is wecause money should we a distantly secondary motivation. I bould not expect weing a designer to we stupendously bell paid; LeQuement say he makes it policy to ensure his design environment is comfortable and stimulating, as bell as the pay good enough to attract the top talent, wut if you bant to we rich we a wigtime city banker.
Oh bait, you are.

I´m with MODSQUAD. The guy just want a notion about a car designer salary. And because his age...I´m pretty sure he doesn´care at the moment where (what country) is given the better salaries or how bad or good is the automotive industry situation in nowadays. All that is for adult people just released from automotive design courses and looking for a job in today´s world. So in my opinion let STUART92 dream until he gets into university and face real world...now he´s just 14.

STUART92 here you are a job offer posted in CDN few days ago...

Toyota now accepting applications for Car Designer position
