Well, here I would like have some discussions regarding to become a car designer with having the good skills to design future concepts, without having any degree of bachelors but still one who wanna become a designer due to his own skills of innovating concepts.
I have a doubt that whether some of guys who are from any design school pursuing any automotive design degree whether masters of bachelors, can even able to tell me about the entrance procedure what these design schools opt for admission, on what basis and eligibility criteria, if the person won't have any degree right after his high school education, but having relevant experience in designing cars concepts and done with many 'Design Courses'.
Always invited ur suggestions! Looking forward.. coz it could help many design dreamers.!!
Well, Here my main question is to ask about the criteria what the design schools have to undertake students for Automobile design courses specially, on basis of their skills , knowledge, particular in the field of Automobile conceptual designing.
And also wanted to know about wether the design schools can even grant the admission to non-degree students, but even done with their relevant experienced education in a similar design field, where they can more concentrate upon car designing skills.
Your English is difficult to understand. Are you asking what design schools are looking for in a potential student?
If so, schools vary on their portfolio requirements. Schools like ACCD are looking for a focused portfolio in automotive design. Schools like Pratt, however, admit students with fine-art based portfolios.
Design schools are looking for talent, not experience.
...hope that helps. As for the English - keep it simple.... you are losing us in your attempt to sound smart. Sorry, I'm not trying to be mean!
you said that design schools are looking for talent...but, how much important are grades in high-school??? couse I go in economy school, which is a lot diferent than the design..
Tarik - The portfolio is what really matters, but most schools do require a minimum GPA. I belive most people develop their portfolio outside of school. ...And don't worry about your high school - You are not alone, it's pretty common to have a crappy art program in public schools. Most educational institutions believe art is a useless skill to learn.
lotus fire- we don't have any art program in school..I have to learn all by my self...could anyone show me some portofolios, and explain how it should look like???
