Hey John, If you want to graduate from the automotive design track, I'm quite certain you WILL start of at the sophomore level at best. Perhaps you will even be required to restart from the freshman level as many do. Unless you are exceptional and have a previous ID degree, you won't be admitted into the 2nd year Automotive prep program, let alone 3rd year. This is really for your own benefit, as if you were admitted, you wouldn't be very competitive with the rest of the class and would suffer greatly. Going an extra year is not wasting a year. I've decided to stay in school an extra year myself so I can have the best possible portfolio upon graduation. Hope that helps.
