what he meant is that accd trans student's work has been lacking in the recent year. if you saw the comparison at both la and ny autoshow, you should've realize the difference between accd and ccs model.
So is this due to the less talented student pool becoming lesser and lesser mature or to the faculty of less talent and passion? Obviously you are speaking for your CCS so can't really say which school had better result this year. Regardeless of this, ACCD still should rock when it comes to the amount of industry sponsored projects and all other industry connections. AAU... I hear that the school lacks a lot in this regard.

Last time I checked, CCS has WAY too many sponsored projects. Admittedly it is better than too few but the companies don't give a crap about your education and they end up running the classes, making the choices, etc. CCS should restrict the sponsored projects to one every other semester. And NONE for the so-called "thesis" project which is a JOKE when done as a sponsored project.

I have to agree on this, especially when they make us participate in more than one sponsored project in certain semesters, or when two projects overlap each other. It's one of the issues that has been brought up by our class before too.

The deal with sponsored projects is MONEY. A company ponys up $50,000 to $75,000 for each of these, as well as other awards, scholarships, etc. The school is greedy, pure and simple. This is one of the big problems with CCS which I see, but not as bad, with Art Center. Another issue used to be the way the school admin would attempt to manipulate what companies hired what graduates, the "A" companys would hire the best guy, and so on down the line. A student who went out and got an offer independently really threatened this deal-making, at least under Carl's leadership years back. Is it still this way?
I'm sure politics plays a part in it still, sometimes we feel certain students are being unfairly passed up while others get way too much attention. How much of that is a result of said politics, I don't know. But I think it has gotten better than in the past. But you're right, for some reason, CCS doesn't seem to encourage much flexibility within the curriculum or getting offers independantly from the school.
