Well i just had my interview on the 18th. I don't think they were very impressed

How did everyone elses go?

I had mine on the 18th too!!

They wern't too impressed with me either! the guy that was interviewing me was totally arrogant!

He keep finding the negatives of my work and stuff, and said I need 240 points, In the prospectus it says 200?!?

Too be honest, yeah I know cov has got a good reputation and everything, but my interviews down at swansea and huddersfield went to so much better, way friendlier and nice! Cov is my first choice due to living in cov, but I wont kick up much of a fuss if I have to go elsewhere!!!

Sounds like a rountine then since my interview was just like how u described it. They didn't even appreaciate the fact that i learnt and used photoshop for my final sheet of the "assignment" (in which they didnt even read the first page). Well if we both get in then i guess we can look forward to getting underappreciated together ^^

Maybe they are doing the crit for your benefit?

In my interview, the 1st time round, they said my work was good but there wasn't enough of it, due to me sending my work off to the exam board to have it marked. They suggested that I did the Art foundation course and then get in through that way, basically if you pass, you get a space on your desired degree course at the uni. They just took a couple of people out and said sorry and to the rest of us, he came back in and said well done you're on, see you in September! That easy!

yeah, I mean, compared to the other guys in my year and the guys in my design lesson, none of them have a clue about photoshop, I had some decent renderings, yeah they arnt brilliant, but I know the basics, and we're going to uni to get taught right, (surely we will advance quicker and it will be easier for them if we know the basics?) and the guy just totally blanked me when I was talking about them..

Where else have you applied dude?

Armani, when I was there we got taught photoshop for maybe 3 hours, the rest is self-taught. They might have changed it now though.

Peter Barker is OK once you get to know him, he may seem aloof when you 1st meet him.

He probably didn't blank you, he has probably seen it all before.

He probably didnt take any notice of your photoshop because we dont do a lot of it. They prefer to see that you have a creative mind and a basic drawing skill. Being amazing on photoshop doesnt mean your very creative or know anything about a good design. Trying not to sound arrogant with this... trust me its just not what they look for.
And short with glasses... not Peter Barker. I think Peters taller than me...

Either way good luck. If it seems as though the interview was worse here, thats poss because its harder to get in and thus a better course. Make sure its what you want to do though... im first year on the course and quite a few people seem to be thinking about dropping out...
