The main reason is cost. According to their website, for international students the cost for one year (and I could have this wrong) is about 7900 GBP or about $15k CAD/USD. That's half of what Art Center charges, plus they offer an MBA or a Masters in Automotive design, have a good relationship with european companies, the ones I ultimately want to work for and I assume they have their own dorms and a full campus.

But nothing out of the school has ever really blown my mind, unlike schools like Art Center, and Chris Bangle never graduated from Coventry, and it's in the UK, which could mean a high cost of living and/or problems with getting loans.

Anyways I'm not really familiar with Coventry at all, and we do have some members here who are or know trans grads from there so any info would be great Smile

Well Mr. Burns let me just say this. There are some issues with ACCD tuition and we as well as the student govt are trying to sort that out. As far as coventry foes let me just say this. My classmate Ryan is actually from Coventry...and he left it to join ACCD! I suppose that says a lot. Dont let people tell you ACCD is crap. It IS hard, but in many ways that strengthens the reputation. Anyway follow your heart, at the end of the day its your choice and your alone. Good Luck!

I tell you ACCD is crap now. Used to be an elite school, and hopefully it will again some time in the future, but it's definitely NOT the time to go to ACCD.

Been there for 7 terms + 3 terms in the night program. I started when they started the new curriculum and they cancelled a bunch of high level viscom and model construction classes. Now it's all watered down theory classes with very little hands on experience.

Oracle, once again, what is your major? I went to 7th/8th term trans class a while back together with the chair. I listened, conversed some, saw the works of Exa/X5 projects, and looked at their portfolio books. There's a good chance that I have seen or talked to you too. If your not from Trans, I want to know how your department is affected, and how is the prospect of your recruitment after graduating?
At first I thought you were here to inform us of accd's current entanglement and hardship, but it seems like you're here to discourage everybody from doing anything to do with accd. How do you expect that to help you and your almamater?

Cov isn't all bad. Its a crappy city, I used to drive 360 miles home every weekend until I met my now fiancee, she was 160 miles from me, so I'd go and see her. I hated staying in Cov.

I loved the course, I met lots of interesting people like JD and Bacon from this forum and many others. I liked most of the tutors, some more than others.

As for graduates, Julian Thomson, Jaguar and Louts designer, John Illey, Ferrari F1 designer and aerodynamicist, Russell Carr, Lotus designer, Matt Humphries, Morgan designer, there are several more famous designers too.

Hey, im from Guelph, ontario and i decided to apply to 4 unis in UK since i thought i was apply to get a loan or some finanical help since im also an EU citzen, but it ended up i got nothin since i had to live in the EU for 3 years before i get anything. but i still came here.

The city it self is not the best, though supposedly it will be great in 5-10 years, nightlife is good compared to what i was use to back home, and locals arent the best, but the school is great. the tutors are there to help you when ever u need help and they have lots of experience and skills. and the enviroment of the class rooms is great if u like the studio style classes, u can learn lots of tricks from ur classmates and get help fromt hem for ur projects.

Just finished my first year here and this year seemed abit unorganised but with my years help next year and the years after will be great, sucks that i wont get the better years but oh well.

all in all cov uni is a great place to go, and would be great to have another canadian guy to show em we us canadians do have style
