you said it yourself, i will be doing stuntsBig Grin

i would be very happy if you post the lancia pic. there are never enough lancia pics.Smile

a safari snorkel is basically a tube going from the airbox (air intake) in the engine bay to the top of the roof. it makes it possible to wade through deeper water; if you don't have a snorkel (Safari is just one of the companies that makes such things) water gets in the engine easier so the stunt some to a bitter end. i'm sure you've seen one. here's one fitted to a land rover discovery:

sorry to disappoint you about the ducati 999... this was the only ducati not designed by tamburini. he was busy working on the mv agusta at the timeBig Grin but he is back though. have you seen the new monster? ducati first showed it in Milano abouth a month ago...Beautifull!

this is a picture of the concept, the production model is not much different though.

so, you are a biker girl too i guess?

hmmm, the plot thickensBig Grin

Ok j4ka, here are the Lancia pics. Now i must warn you this Lanica isn't what it used to be in its good old days but i found it in the school car park when I was doing my photography work. Enjoy!Smile

Lancia 1
Lancia 2
Lancia 3
Lancia 4
Lancia 5

ahhh so that’s what a safari snorkel is!! Smile, yes I have seen one before and always wondered what the hell it was. Thanks for explanation!! Big Grin

Thanks for the pic of the new monster, I have to agree it is beautiful!! Big Grin I began to like the monster when I had a dream once that my dad bought me this one for my birthday:
Ducati monster

haha I’m not sure if i can be classified as a biker girl yet, I don't own a motorbike or even ride one yet but I’m planning on doing so one day, well maybe when i turn 21 or something!!Big Grin But i do love Motogp and World Superbikes, I go every year to those races at Phillip Island.
GO ROSSI !!!

But just like cars, I have an interest in motorbikes but I’m no expert on them so i want to learn more about them.

So out of curiosity do you ride a motorbike? Big Grin

thanx for the lancia pics, poor ol girl, she has seen better days... and who would paint a lancia in turquoise? :P

actually i don't own a motorbike or have a driving permit for a motorbike (the one for a scooter doesn't count i guess) and i don't own a bike. every spring i go around shopping for one, but eventually deciding that i'm better off without one. i don't live in a house and i dont have a garage so it would be difficult to park the bike on rainy days and during winter. and it is kind of expensive to get the motorbike driving permit...

i am a big fan though, my friend has a silver monster (almost like the one you got in your dreamsSmile) and a yellow 916 so it is kind of difficult to resist to go for a ride every now and thenBig Grin

if i would buy i bike (maybe next spring), it would definetly be a monster or maybe a yamaha mt-03.or a KTM...

i also love MotoGP, so much more interesting than F1. but i don't like rossi any more. ever since ducati entered the GP Casey is THE MAN!

so, alfa girl, you are not a biker girl yet.Big Grin

considering what you wrote so far i think you're not far off from being one.Smile

so, cars covered then...bikes to... any other hobbies that might be interesting? like having a hamster or somethingBig GrinBig Grin

lol, I think the lancia being painted in turquoise is the least of its problems, you should have seen the interiors. I can believe the owner let it go like that, talk about neglect of a classic!!

I don't neglect my precious Alfa Sprint interiors, today i cleaned the interiors of my car Smile, but it was a bad idea because my brother saw me and told me while i was at it i could clean the 164 too, then i ended up cleaning my dads Holden also. But i would rather clean cars than do house work Smile

yes Motogp is much better than F1 Big Grin, i like Casey too, It was awesome seeing him win on that Ducati at Phillip Island. This is a photo i took at the gp this year:
Motogp 1

I'm not a biker girl yet because my parents aren't to keen on me getting one, especially my mum. But one day definitely! Big Grin, i will be riding to Phillip Island for the GP!!(on my dream silver ducati monster Smile)

But i do own a YAMAHA, now now don't get too excited it's not a motorbike Smile This brings me to your hobby question. I play keyboard and I love music. I can't live without playing my keyboard, it is just as much fun as driving my sprint Big Grin

so besides pulling off handbrake stunts in the snow with you Alfa what are your hobbies? Big Grin

first of all, this thread is getting seriously close to that "page 6"...tam dam daaaa daaaaaaaaaaamBig Grin

probably the owner of that otherwise beautiful lancia beta thinks his car has "character" because of the dents and rust and the colour...sombody ought to put him/her straight i guessBig Grin

wow, you were like 20 meters away from the track judging by your photo.or you had an enormous zoom lens on your camera.either way; Casey, Casey, Casey!!!! (that's me rooting for Casey you seeBig Grin)

it's a shame i wasn't in the neighbourhood today...you could clean my car as wellBig Grin but anyway, big up to you for being so nice. i'm sure your brother and dad will remember this and help you convince your mum that motorbikes are not such a bad ideaSmile

i wasn't so productive today though. i just made a couple of things very dirty today. i went kite boarding on a nearby field. it wasn't as spectacular as this, but fun nonetheless;

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RM-YtGhTZto&feature=related

The washing machine will be doing overtime today.Big Grin

anyway, i ride mountainbikes (i especially like downhill, biker cross and dual slalom), snowboard (backcountry and freeride), like driving very much (obviously), i collect stamps (not really, this one is a jokeBig Grin) and generally like what i do for a living (design, transport design, car design) very much so ii guess this is a hobby for me too.

i admire people who can "produce" music. i really don't know how you do it and i REALLY can't do it myself, but i like music very much. i always have something on, on my computer, when driving, when riding... except when kiting, then i prefer the sound of the wind and the clatter of the board or buggy. what kind of music do you like playing most? and how long have you been playng?

oh nooo!!! not page 6 FrownFrownFrown i really like this thread. Oh well i suppose we can start another thread some other time titled "Alfa drivers only" or something Big Grin

Hey that kite boarding stunt was awesome!!! you sound like a really extreme guy, lol Big Grin
hmmm i have to see if we have kite boarding here in Melbourne, I wanna try it someday Wink

I have been playing keyboard since I was 12 and now I’m 18 so that’s about 6 years now. I have made up a few of my own songs. My keyboard is really cool, i can record on it and mix stuff because it has its own equalizer. I generally play a lot of 70's and 80's music and some more recent stuff and I’m going to audition for a talent quest this month so keep your fingers crossed for me!! Big Grin

maybe this is the last post of the thread...eeeek! we should start another thread soon, yeah, something in the lines of "alfa drivers only"Big Grin or maybe someone else should start a discussion about something completely different (involving a dog, a wacom tablet and many exclamation marksBig Grin) and we hijack the threadBig Grin

i wouldn't say i'm an extreme guy. i just have a thing for adrenaline... occasionally... anyway, i am just learning to kiteboard and i'm still a long way from doing stunts like the one on the video, but it is so much fun! i think you have a kite boarding scene in melbourne, and a pretty good one at that. you should try it!

70's and 80's music? like led zeppelin? or is it more duran duran and kajagoogoo? maybe man at work?Big Grin oh, i know i know!! you like INXS!Big Grin or not?

this is getting closer and closer to page six.maybe a chat room isn't such a bad idea. or maybe some other form of intercontinental communication, not affected by time zones and such. any ideas?
