Have you ever imagined what will happen when we run out of fossil fuels such as gas? How this new world will work? It is interesting that all of us, members of this forum, will probably be living by then... New challenges are ahead...
What world do you imagine? Are you afraid of the revolutions that is coming? what do you think will be the most difficult challenge? Changes are being made (Hydrogen, hybrids, etc.), but are we changing as fast as we need?
well if we run out of fossil fuels, it would be really a challenge for especially car industry, and we (future designers ) will have a lot of work to design cars on wind power, solar energy and so on.
we'll be crafting some pretty fancy rickshaws i guess.
anyways, the whole hybrid thing is PC BS. I see more of a future in electric. Charge the cars on the grid and we can use wind, solar, etc. power to run the country. i know it's not practical right now but we can start moving in that direction so when we really do run out of fossil fuels or they become too expensive to be efficient it won't be much of a switch.
perhaps transportation design of year 2050 wont be a flying car or a bizzare computerrized hybrid...but hm... a horse carriage? hey just a thot u know :-P
Someday, transportation systems (as we know them nowadays) will be a part of our history as a human kind... nothing else, because I hope new, smarter, more efficient and more eco-friendly systems will be created! Talking about planes, here you will find two very interesting articles about what's going on with the fuels in the aviation industry... quite interesting!
