this doesnt have to do with much but u know what really ticks me off is all these punk bands that are slowly becoming huge sellouts to make money, a good example being, story of the year, formerly, big blue monkey. i dunno to me the punk rock scene is becoming completely commercialized. the draw to punk music has always been the underground sort of rebellious look of it but now its becoming a majority and is losing its effect. theres the kids in school who come in one day completely decked out in clothes they purchased at hot topic for a total of probably 700 dollars, with saftey pins and anarchy symbols, come on. to me the punk style is youre own, you improvise and do whatever you want. well now its becoming this crazy thing where every girl has a haircut that is smooshed down in front and spiked in the back and all the guys have shaggy hair... etc etc etc. i will admit, i have that whole look going on, but i dont follow, i wear what i want. some kids come in and are actually conscious about every little punk rock accessory they wear. to me the punk rock image is being ruined by these bands that just want to make money. everyone wants money but i think id rather keep my fan base that is always faithful and go to all the shows when in the area in the small underground venues. the bands that stay 'underground' and dont go sellout have less fans and make less money but theior fans are the type that are hardcore fans and worship the ground they walk on, i think id rather have that then 60,000 12 yr olds that show up at my show with mohawks because they have heard them once and are completely scene. these kids are called scenesters and are everywhere now, ive seen about 12 kids in the tiny little middle school of sutton that wear the chains and black clothes and dark makeup... come on, be a kid, dont try to look like u belong in a punk band and are about 20 yrs old. so thats my rant on punk rock and it probably doesnt make any sense but i just wanted to express how i feel about the growing commercializing of the once rebellious and undground form of art called punk rock.

Sorry for posting this much with SPG900 guys, but if it doesn't interest you at all, just skip it I agree with the part about most 'punk' bands look as though they have more stylists than the average boy band, which is quite a contradiction to the good old days. But you have to remember that the bands often don't get a say in the commercialisation of their music; if the record company pushes for more sales, not much can be done. The only thing a band can do is choose how to present themselves. @AD: Yeah, the BeoPlayer's design is -like all B&O designs- gorgeous, but I hate the idea that look are put ahead of practicality (no display). I'd love to have a pair of those little portable B&O headphones, though.
