I was in a restaurant in Italy for the World Cup finals in 1994 when it went to penalties, our meal was delayed while the chef was watching the italian team getting beaten by Brazil. A few days before Italy was playing Bulgaria, they won. We heard car horns coming from Siena Square, again when we were having dinner. We went down to see what was happening and all the fans were out waving flags and driving around in a frenzy!
Todays England result shows that it doesnt matter how many decent players you have on the team, they all have to gel together as 1. This also happened with Brazil!
France on the other hand have decent players but the gel together very well and create "beautiful football" as the ITV commentator said.
PS I am not going to support France before you ask! I'd be happy for them if they won the World Cup!

Anyways, before the world cup started the three favourites were Brazil, England and Argentina. Therefore it is obvious who is to blame; the Bookies.

U guys forget Italy they are also favorites. As Dick Howard said "I believe Italy is the only team with enough talent to beat brazil this year." I guess France beat them to it. No matter.. Finals is going to be Italy vs France and this time wer not going to f****ing loose in shootouts after an idiot tied the game in injury time at the 5th minute when there was only supposed to be 3!! i had to let that out.
Italy were not seen as favourites here in the UK! They were written off fairly early in the tournament, as far as I can remember!
I still reckon Germany has got a good chance of winning, if they score 2 goals early on against Italy like they did against Sweden, they should easily go through!
Thing is.. Italy has yet to let 1 goal in (except for an own goal).. i doubt that germany will score 2 goals early, if any at all . And if Italy scores the first one its over because they're the best at hanging on (which was once they're problem,.. they would hang on even when they were behind).
I hate to say this but I'm gonna go for Germany. It's like being asked if I want to be shot, stabbed, hung or poisoned but I (unlike many players) have principles.
Italy; Cheated their way past Australia. France; Cheated their way past Spain (I'm disappointed in you, Henry.) Portugal; Yeah, right. I know people who have (rightly) cancelled their holiday in the Algarve.
