Hi. My name is Michael. I'm new to this forum. Ever since I was 8, I've wanted to draw, render, sculpt, and design cars. I'm now a junior in high school and I'm currently attending an Art's high school. This summer I'm planning on taking the transportation design summer program at CCS. I've found it hard the last couple years to create cars that look asthetically pleasing but my 3d drawing and perspective has gotten much better. I enjoy creating body kits for cars and can create them with ease yet when I try to design the entire car, my car doesn't look proffesional. I'm wondering if going to school and being in an envirement that stimulates all types of car bodies help anyone draw different things. also any advice would be helpful. Thanks.

The one thing that i always found odd is how people can draw other things but can't come up with anything of their own successfully on thier own. I can come up with my own idea, but I can't draw others ideas.

(But I started from tracing a design of my brothers, and at that point I rejected copying designs and I started changing his original design and crafted to be my own, and from there I started my own stuff.)

So I'll tell you what I know and think will help. It should, I've read that different environments bring out or inspire designers in different areas. Creativity is contagious. If your around other people who know about this you should learn from them verbally and subconciously. I'm sure you'll be inspired by them. You may do something that will have you wondering "did I draw this". (If this happens Don't dwell on good sketchs, look at it then put it down, and continue sketching.) I wish i had the chance to do a progrm like this but eh, it wasnt to be.

Do well, Be well.

Hi Michael
I suggest you to try more and more. You won't be a proffesional vehicle designer only by going to design school, you should try hard.Meanwhile i suggest you to use from vehicle designing websites e.g CDN and you should ask your questions about your problems in different design subjects. For more details please send me email or private M.I can guide you more in this field.

Have a nice time
Goodbye
