Road accident is increasing each year, it is reported that at least seven people were killed while seven others were injured in separate road accidents on Sunday.

According to reports, three people were killed while four sustained injuries when a speeding dumper, collided with a Suzuki. The incident took place near Punjab Colony, within the jurisdiction of the Clifton Town Police Station. The people in the Suzuki were going to the seaside to hunt from Agra Taj Colony, Lyari. After the accident, they were taken to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Center (JPMC) where Kamran Sultan, 30, Sajid Fazl, 20, and Nasir Nazir, 18, were proclaimed dead, while Athar, Sohail, Khurram and Ghulam Mustafa were said to have sustained serious injuries. The police have arrested the responsible dumper driver, Nasrullah, and registered FIR No. 155/08 against him on behalf of the driver of the Suzuki, Liaquat. No officer was available for comment.

Girl run over: An eight-year-old girl, Kulsoom, was killed when a speedingtruck hit her near Pasha Clinic, New Karachi No. 3, within the jurisdiction of the Bilal Colony Police Station. An angry mob, which witnessed the tragedy, began to beat the truck driver, Tehseenullah, and set his vehicle on fire, said SHO Ghayyor Akhtar. People also burnt tyres and pelted passing vehicles with stones. When law enforcers arrived on the scene, the angry mob attacked the policemen and the firefighters too. They pelted the policemen and their mobile units with stones, as well as the fire vehicle. Only after using teargas were the police able to take control of the situation. The body of the deceased was taken to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital (ASH) for legal formalities, said the SHO. The deceased’s father, Kamaluddin, is a labourer by profession and has four other children. No FIR was registered till the filing of this report.

Two die as rickshaw gets hit: A rickshaw driver and a passenger were killed when a speeding dumper, hit them on the Northern Bypass, within the jurisdiction of the Manghopir Police Station. The police have taken the dumper into custody while the accused driver is on the run, said SHO Kambo Khan Marri. The bodies of the victims were taken to the ASH for legal formalities and later shifted to the Edhi morgue at Sohrab Goth for identification, added the officer. No FIR was registered till the filing of this report.

Fire brigade kills man: Thirty-year-old Iqbal Falak was killed while his wife and two children sustained injuries after allegedly being hit by a speeding fire brigade, claimed sources. The incident took place at Khayaban-e-Jami, within the jurisdiction of the Defense Police Station, when the deceased, a resident of Bhittai Colony, Korangi, was on his motorcycle. No officer was available for comment.

Its a pretty scary thought that any one of us could die on the roads at any moment isnt it? Well, not me of course, I drove over a star a while back so Im cool but if anyone hits me on their last balloon they are in for some serious road rash.
And imagine how the course of world events would be hugely and tragically diverted were a designer to be killed in such a way. I mean, there would probably be no cure for cancer! Ever! Or AIDS! Or at least there wouldnt be a snappily styled moulded-plastic hypogun for the tinfil-clad doctor of the future to push hissing into peoples necks to dispense said cures. For gods sake people look left, look right, look left again (reverse where applicable) or we're screwed!

JD you amuse me. There are cures for cancer and aids.

There are? Are you sure you dont mean fungal foot infection and thrush? Last I checked AIDS was pretty much, y'know, cure-less? Sort of a cure-free zone. Have you been cured of it? This is big news!

oh JD I'm disappointed in you! You of all people should know that AIDS is a man made "disease" and that there is a cure for it just sitting in the labs where it was created in. But the ones who created it don't want the public to know about this, so let it stay our little secret. OK?
