hello people,

I'm a new user in 3DStudio MAX 7, and I'm modelling a car now, but the conventional lighting is far too disappointing.
Can anyone tell me about better ways to light my model using this software?

thanks,
marcelo

I'm working with max,and the best rendering is with Brasil r/s.You can download limited version Brasil rio.You have everything but the size of the picture is limited to 512x382 pixels.Or you can try to find the tutorials on the 3dtotal or 3dm-c I think. Also you can try to download V-ray plugin renderer. With standard lights you can do following
create one omni light(multiplier about 0.3) and then copy(instance)8 of them to create skydome.Disconnect light(shadow). For the main light you can use direct light. Also it is good E-light script plugin.I will give you the links.

I hope it will help you this.
