I participated in the last design challenge, and from it I learned, that these challenges that we run amongst ourselves challenges us, it challenged me, to improve our skills. We develop smart ideas, and new techniques, and it keeps us involved and active with futher developing our skills.

It the last challenge, Peugeot and Renault developed teams, assigned positions and jobs, and private forums. It gave that challege a near-professional kind of feel.

For the new challenge we want to incorporate the same ideas but even more. Introducing point systems based on how individuals performs, and Team points based on the winners of the mutiple challenges that will exist in the future. These teams are intended to last years long. Performing many tasks, competing in several team versus team challenges, as well as challenges amonst team members versus team members themselve, futher encouraging the development of skill, as well as orginality.

To add emphasis on orignality, unlike past team challenges, where forum members, design for a car company, the new teams will based on regions. Consisting of three teams in total. Team CDN Americas (North & South), CDN of Europe, and CDN Design Studio Asia.

Challenges will be moderated and judged, by forum member who would volunteer to join a moderating committee, consisting of maybe 3 to 5 judges.

Forum members can decide amongst themselves who will head each team. The heads will be voted for, or if there are no votes, the the team leaders could be volunteers.

Afterward forum members will be recruited by the team leaders, either team leader sends you a PM notifying you that they wish for you to be on there team, or you can send the team leader some of your work, to see if the team leader will decide to recruit you.

In this challenge there will be not actually automakers, meaning each team would work as its own auto company, and each team is responsible for a brandname, logo, and a face for the company.

Team leaders are required to keep their team working every week, setting up a schedule, a week for sketching, and a week for rendering, etc.

Teams are also required to design more products besides just cars, this includes, trucks, buses, trains, air planes, and motorcycles, each teams should have at least one active design for each of these vehicles.

Teams will also have challenges through out the course of the year, where they must develop products, beside transportational product, to further enrich skills in design.

The year will most likekl consist of at least 6 Auto Show challenges, 1 Truck Bus and Train Expo Challenge, 1 Recreational Vehicles Challenge, an Airplane Cabin Challenge, 2 Products to Benefit the World Challenges, and other various challeges thrown at teams at random.

As well as all the other new things, we will add a point system in order to increase competition.

Individual Points -- Team leaders will be required to award forum members of their teams points, based on performance. points are to be awarded on a monthly basis. Each team has a monthly individual point-salary cap of 30 points, teams arent required to use all 30, but they can use more than 30.

Team Points- Awarded quarterly to teams based on the team's performance, points are awarded by the judges.

Challege Points (Bounus Points)- Awarded to team after every team vs team challenge. The higher the judges rate your team in a challenge the higher amount of points recieved. In team Challenges, first place team gets 40 points, second place 20 points, and third (last) place 5 points.

Bonus points can be used by the team leader to add to the forum members, in their team, individual points, or they can be used to add the teams points.

Team Ranks -- teams will be ranked by how much team points the team has.

Individual ranks -- forum members will be ranked by how many individual points the individua has.

The recruiting idea sounds cool, my only problem is the schedule.Team members should be given at least two weeks to work on sketches.

The whole product design idea is good.
my only concern is that the other aspects don't overshadow the reason why many of us are at this site.Car design. So

Interesting. i'm certainly in. It just might become a bit complicated keeping track of it. Not sure.

I think that´s a great idea, after a long period of posting nothing here I would like to take part for team europe.

But I also think that we should reduce the range of the products. It would make more sense if we start with a certain car like a saloon or an economic car or sth. different and later design other cars, motorcycles etc.

I would love to do this, and be part of any team - for any region. I've grown up in the U.S., am currently studying Transportation Design at Creapole ESDI in Paris. I'm young, but I am incredibly motivated, a hard worker, and I have a lot of skills in marketing, graphism/ logo creation/ company creation ideas. Anyway I'm very open minded. My biggest question is-- WHEN CAN WE START!!!!!! Lets get this on the road ASAP!!!!!Thanks. Nyko

Hey, so what happened here? Lets get this rolling, its been 3 days with no updates-- I'm sure there are people who want to start, Yes?? If so lets get this rolling, or it it's too complex lets get something simpler rolling in on another feed... I don't know, I jsut really want to have stuff thrown at me and be challenged. I'm a student, and the more I'm pushed the better I work.
