since this is the sketch groups, i was thinking if we could do a simulation of a real life design team and process. us as a team will come up with a concept and then we go our seperate ways and sketch up concepts of what the car should look like, and then as a group pick the best solution then we work off of that basic theme.the person whos solution was chosen leads the team and will be in charge of assigning whos going to make final detailed sketches.

its just an idea for now...im just sick of regular contest and waiting a month for a new one to show up...
any opinions or ideas?

Perhaps it may be a bit complicated, but to add a bit of a competitive edge. Depending on the amount of interest there is, we could have 2 or 3 teams each working together. Each individual could do their sketches, as a team select the best solution it follows on like vexed&glorious stated. Then at the end the teams post their sketches and a prfossional designer on the forums selects the winning idea.

But that would require more people to join in than what currently happens.

Just an idea.

I think this is a great idea! Now we just need enough people interested. But I for one am. I guess for now we could just do one team, and then later make another when more people are interested. Personally I think it might be best if we already have a leader right now and that leader picks up to a limited amount of members. Then if there's more people interested, there could be another leader and those people form the team with the same amount of number of members as the other team. That's my idea for now. Let's get more people involved!!

Hey, count me in! I know I've been away since the famous detroitmetal incident but I'm really interested in this new approach. My opinion is we should just start off with Vexed&Glorious' idea, a cooperative sketch group (design process sim) then, as people start to get involved, we can think about making teams.


As I was typing, i just got an idea! ...
How about, for the teams idea, we says design a roadster, for example, and the participants declare themselves for either of the two suggested car makes (let's say Peugeot vs Renault). So it would be interesting that at the end we see which company's "design team" did the best... think about it.. bmw vs mercedes , honda vs nissan ...

So fot whatever happens, i only hope it happens.

I think you should try to keep it as simple as possible.

Most of these changes get too sidetracked becuase everyone wants to go in a million different directions.

What would be ideal is to speak with someone currently studying trans design at ACCD, CCS, etc. and just post the exact project outline they are working on.
