Nowdays it looks like the car design world is continually closing into itself. The last shameful act was the Peugeot contest, then... nothing more, total void. The result is that design schools have the total, financialy driven, power on the market.
But at the end, if this is art, someway it should be FREE. So can we all put together a REAL DESIGN CHALLENGE, some neutral point of view on any designer. While other fields of design are not lacking free competitions, is anybody thinking about about it in car design?!

One of the reasons Michelin created the Michelin Challenge Design five years ago is because we ARE neutral and it cost nothing to enter. All disciplines are welcome to enter. Check it out at www.michelinchallengedesign.com or link to it from the CDN front page.

Hey Y not create a CDN Design Challenge where all, from newbies to veterans, acn Participate? And teh n depending on age-group, we can decide the winner, and then give him/her a title or somethin!??? We can choose the topic, and then set out skethching and/or rendering! The seniormost members wud decide the topic!

Randolph Toom is trying to do something like this, the winner will design a real car that he wants to build.

(*Whispering -to be tactful) Thing is with Eugene that the guy sort of lives in a world where riding phantom tigers at the speed of love through teardrops of unicorn blood to the sound of cherub's harps playing Tetris sounds like an interesting and viable concept design.
