I have been monitoring this thing for weeks and I still can't figure out what they are doing.

Hi sid99,

When you say you can't figure out what we're doing...

have you watched the intro video ?

read the About Us/FAQ?

followed any of the discussion on our forums ?

If anything's still not clear, i'm happy to explain in more detail!

Short version: creating a new performance car via crowdsourced design, to be built by Caterham Cars.

Have you posted some of your work in the portfolio section of this site?

After viewing the video, and reviewing the rest of the site, I have figured out what they are doing and its planning to waste money.
There are already too many unsold cars in the world, why make more of them?

The only intelligent thing I read there was that thing about the sports truck, there must be plenty of unsatisfied demand for such a vehicle.

Sorry you feel that way sid99.

Given that many of your other forum posts are about design contests open to students i would have thought that an initiative that offers anybody, especially students of engineering and design, the opportunity to directly influence the design of a significant new performance car would be something you'd welcome.

I am not a nerd, and I am proud of it, so I have not learned how to use a computer properly. I may have sent splitwheel some sketches, but I can't find them on their site.
Perhaps it is late at night over there in their time zone, so when I sent them, their electricity had been turned off.
I will try to post them in the CDN portfolio.

After giving this some thought, I have decided that project splitwheel is a scam.
What they are really doing is just getting a bunch of wankers together, to talk about cars.
The hidden agenda is to get their email addresses, and assemble a mailing list, that can be used to sell pornography.
They claim to be designing a new sports car, which they will sell to a world that already has too many sports cars.
Perhaps if they could come up with a GOOD sports truck ( not another truck attempting to be sporty ) They would have some chance of success.

The moderator of splitwheel.com has banned the guy who writes the funny posts. The last reason to visit that dumb@ss site is gone.

,unless you are some w@nker who likes to hang out with losers that are even dumber than you are.
If those guys really are former Lotus engineers, they must be the blokes Lotus fired.

Apparently they want to build something like the Caterham 21, which failed to sell. They are rejecting anything that is not similar to a Cat 21, something they know will not succeed. What, are they retarded or something?
