I have a doubt... I think that the "small vehicle" concept/idea are not the same for each area. I mean, small for japanese and european would be a car like Toyota Aygo or Yaris, but for North-american people small would be something something larger like a Toyota Corolla. Which "small" should we consider for this contest??
hi first, i think that the challenge is not simply small vehicles but the security in smaller vehicles second, in this challenge you can imagine cars which are not made in reality my entries in 2006 and 2007
cyrusyn, You're correct. We are keeping with the "safety" aspect again this year, but it does have a different theme. Last year it was directed to "Share the Road". This year it is the concept of "Small but Safe". How to make a smaller vehicle safer, especially in an urban enviornment. A person driving a SUV inhearently feels safer than a person driving a micro-car. How, as a designer can you equalize this? It seems difficult. I guess that's why we call it a "Challenge". BTW are you entered? The deadline for questionairres has past and we have more entries than last year and a tie for the number of countries from which entries were submitted - 51. Should be interesting. Thanks for your inetrest, Steve

Steve, If I may ask, how many total entries did you get-- like questionaire forms, and how many got accepted. I know that this might be concealed information that is not allowed to be given out, but I was just curious thats all. Is there a certain percentage of questionaires that get accepted? Like I said, just curious.
If you look at the projects selected in the previous Michelin C.D.s you will see that you really dont have to design something specifically for this, just find a project that you have already done and modify it to look like you did it for this years MCD. You will see that everybody else did this. I remember a few years ago, the theme was design something for the California market, 2 guys sent them pictures of snowmobiles, get it ,it does'nt snow in California, its hot. Look, if you want to spend alot of time designing something that the theme has called for, go ahead, but don't expect them to select your project, just because you did some work, OK. They only have room for the projects that were designed by the talented students, not the stuff sent in by guys who took design in commmunity college, so they did'nt have to get a job.
